Photographic Eye on Asia

About

Tom is owner and lead photographer of Onsite Studios, a studio & mobile portrait and public events photographic services company in Chungmuro, Seoul.  He first came to Asia in 1970 and to Korea as  a Peace Corps Volunteer in 1975.  Since then, he has worked on both sides of the Pacific of which the overwhelming amount has been in NE Asia.  Having an MBA and 25 years multinational corporate management experience, he understands business as well as photography.  His photographic services have been employed by various embassies and private businesses as well as families.  The Irish Government featured his work in Ireland and Korea during week-long photo exhibitions in Seoul and Dublin.  Tom frequently shares projects with Gunpyo Hong, CEO of Maekyung DS, a commercial photo studio, and past chairman of the Korea Advertising Photographers Association.  They share a studio just next to Exit 7 of Chungmuro subway station in downtown Seoul.

This blog is to entertain and to inform photographers of all levels on how to get the most of out their experience in Korea and elsewhere by using their cameras, be the equipment smart phones or professional-level DSLRs.  Cultural as well as technical/artistic advice is offered, based on Tom’s experiences from  living over 30 years in Asia and being a serious photographer since 1968.
