Rafael Gutiérrez has kindly sent us this report of the recent AGM held by the St. Andrew’s Society in Mexico. The Angloinfo team is very thankful to him for providing us with this account and photos.
Last Wednesday 8th of March the Society held their Annual General Meeting in the White Room of Christ Church. The Chief and officers gave their reports for the year that ended.
New Chief’s medal being presented by outgoing Chief Rafael Gutiérrez Chief Ewan Parry being invested with the brand new Chief’s Medal
Members present elected Ewan Parry as their new Chieftain. Outgoing Chief Rafael Gutiérrez presented Ewan with the brand new Chief’s Medal which replaces the old Atkin medal that was presented in 1929 by the St. Andrew’s Society of Aberdeen. Unfortunately the old medal had been lost at an event 2 years ago and therefore efforts were made to replace it. The new medal was made by famous and talented sculptor Lorenzo Rafael who based it on photographs of the old medal.
Official proceedings ended with Piper Andres Castro Signoret playing the lament The Flowers of the Forest to honour our dear departed member and friend John Franck.
