“Mantelsonndeg“, literally translated the “Coats Sunday” is an old Luxembourgish tradition. In the past stores opened on the Sunday before All Saints’ Day and people living in the countryside converged to Luxembourg stores to buy a new coat and by extension their winter clothes. This tradition has been maintained although the date is now a bit more flexible. This year, around 2,000 shops will be open on Sunday October 23 from 14:00-18:00 not only in Luxembourg-City, but also in Differdange, Esch-sur-Alzette, Ettelbruck, Foetz-Mondercange and Grevenmacher.
Luxembourg-city bus shuttles (line 1) will be operating every 7-8 minutes from P&R Bouillon to Luxembourg station area and city centre from 13:00-18:30.
