Welcome to Island Life, an online diary written by the team at AngloInfo Singapore. We are part of the wider AngloInfo group of websites set up to provide a major city-wide index for residents and visitors around the globe. With more than 90 regional websites in over 40 countries, AI has everything and anything that a person needs when living in that city.
Based on busy Orchard Road, our intrepid team travel far and wide – or sometimes just down the road – to bring you stories from Singapore and its surrounds. From business listings to workshops, classes to forums, we record everything that’s going on around town. We have been in existence for more than nine years, and underwent a major website revamp in 2016 – we have the same trusted brands online and offer the same services, but now in an updated format.
Our customers are:
- Expats – just arrived, looking for a business, advice, recommendations. We have listings for all needs, from today to the near future and further down the calendar. Join our forum and get help from those who know.
- Singaporeans – our portal is your portal, whatever you need on the island we probably have it listed. Got some good advice? Share it with us here.
- Businesses – list your company, raise your profile, make some fresh contacts. These connections are what make the world go around.
- Events – looking for a platform to publicise your event, for free, with pictures? Post it here or take out an ad and get a bigger profile. From early morning to late night, right now or in the future, we want to hear about what’s going on.
Who we are:
Mo Lawson, Events Editor, writes this blog, and lives in Singapore with her husband and son. Since arriving four years ago she’s joined two choirs, learned Mandarin, tried Scottish country dancing and sailing, walked the treetop canopy, become a tour guide, suffered aqua-aerobics, taken up running, perfected the use of chopsticks, and travelled southeast Asia with more trips to come. She writes the blog partlycloudy.co.uk and yearns for a quiet life (but knows if she ever got one she’d hate it).
Victoria Milner, also writes for Angloinfo and runs her own blog Singapore Foodie
Lynn Freeman also throws her hand in contributing to all topics. She has lived in Singapore for over 20 years and seen some changes!
Jonny Hesketh, grew up in Singapore and left to go to Manchester University, where he studied for 4 years. He subsequently worked as a jounalist for ESPN in Singapore and later after completing a Masters in the UK joined Perform, another sports media company, before returning to Singapore. Jonny simply could not stay away and his life balance preference is Asia!
Your life in Singapore is our life online – whatever’s happening on the Red Dot we want to hear about it, write about it, talk about it, share it and enjoy it. Enjoy exploring with us at www.angloinfo.com/singapore
