It seems the Municipal Market in Beausoleil and the Monte Carlo market near it, has become quite the hot spot for healthy eating of late.
LB Bio, Le Potager de Cathy and Vita Sensys have all popped up within steps of each other, offering everything from CIY (cook it yourself) to “let us do it and deliver it to you,” all with healthy ingredients.
Now that spring is in the air, why not shoot over there and take a look. If anything, maybe you’ll get some inspiration to eat more healthily.
First up is a brand new health food shop that just opened in the Beausoleil market building, almost in the same place that the Atlas Bio occupied ages ago.
LB Bio is named for the initials of its friendly owner, Leila Benzirar and her shelves are neatly stocked with health food basics like cereals, flours, grains and beverages like soy milk and fruit juice.
She showed me her order book with almost a full page of items requested by her customers. It’s a heartening sign that she’s starting her business in this customer friendly way.
One thing she offers that other bio shops don’t is a phone order and delivery service. If you’re too busy to make your way over there, just call her, she’ll assemble your order, and deliver it to you every day except Sunday.
I always admire, and like to throw my support behind, any individual brave enough to open a business in France so I’ll be shopping there whenever I’m in the neighbourhood.

Le Potager de Cathy
Le Potager de Cathy has added to her already popular home delivery service with a fresh fruit and vegetable stand she’s set up in the Monte Carlo Market.
She’s stocked it with the same fresh seasonal goodies that she puts in her delivery baskets and manning the booth is her new English speaking colleague, the charming, ex-mixologist named Grance.
Along with fresh fruit and veg sourced mainly from the Piedmont in Italy, they’re now offering meal “kits” that include everything you’ll need to make main dinner dishes. Today’s offering was Squash Risotto.
Best of all, you can have everything delivered to your home.

The well-being and lifestyle company Vitasensys, who opened a busy healthy organic food take away and juice bar in the Marché de la Condamine last summer now has a new branch in the Monte Carlo Market.
I’m glad to see that they source many of their ingredients from Romy, whose stand in the Marché de la Condamine is filled with some of the highest quality products I’ve seen anywhere.
On the menu at the new branch are vegetarian salads, a juice bar, soups and a healthy breakfast with oatmeal for €8. Best of all, they can make your smoothie with rice, almond, or spelt milk.
There are only a few places to perch inside but everything is available for take away or for a fee they can deliver.
