The ELAA is an award of ten thousand euros granted to a project, initiative or practice that raises awareness of global challenges and helps solve them at a local level.
Created in 2013 by the organization of the Estoril Conferences it is an opportunity lead the way in making significant change.
Besides the monetary award the winners will be invited to attend and present their project during the 5th edition of the Estoril Conferences, May 2017. Previous winners have been MDV – Movement for the Defence of Life, in 2013. This was a social project supporting children at risk in families in crisis. The winning project for 2015 was Mar de Oportunidades of Aporvela which is a partnership between Casa Pia de Lisboa and Aporvela focussed on developing young people at risk of social exclusion by promoting awareness of the ocean and possible careers at sea.
The deadline to apply to be considered for this award has just been extended to 31st December 2016 and application forms should be sent to [email protected].
