A Long Way from Tipperary is a blog by Shauna Browne that will share her experience as an Irish expat in Korea with those in Ireland, in Seoul, and around the world.
When she was in her final year of university, she won a scholarship to come to Chung Ang University in Seoul for a 3 week International Program. While enjoying every minute of that trip, she realised that there were opportunities for English teachers here so she went home, graduated, did a T.E.F.L., saved money and came back in 2009. She has been here ever since.
Shauna lives in Paju, Geumchon about 40kms from the border with North Korea In her spare time she likes to play at music sessions and other events in Seoul and do some ceili dancing. She is currently serving as vice- chair with the Irish Association of Korea where she enjoys meeting other Irish expats.
